Every year legislators in Washington D.C. and Springfield Illinois pass laws that affect our public school system. These laws affect our children the most. It is difficult for many parents to keep up with all the changes and to obtain information to make a decision on these bills. While many proposals are good for our children, some are dangerous to our kids or an unnecessary burden on our schools. The National and State PTAs monitor these bills for us. Local PTA units need to speak with one voice to support or oppose legislation. Legislators respond when they hear from at least 25 people from the same PTA unit.

 

If you would like to help, please fill out this “Every Child. One Voice” form and send it back to school with your child. You will be put you on the list and notified when we need to take action. You CAN make a difference!
