Welcome to the Willow Bend PTA Website and the 2008 - 2009 school year; Parents and Teachers working together for our kids. Here are some recent highlights:
Willow Bend has launched a new program called Cash for College. It is a school wide fundraiser to raise money for a former WB student that needs financial assistance. Throughout the entire 08/09 school year students and the WB community will raise money by doing activities such as donating $.25 to wear a hat to school, having bake sale etc. At the end of the school year a committee will review the applications and pick the best candidate. Here are some of the planned fundraising days: 10/1 Hat Day: Wear your favorite hat. 11/6 PJ Day: Wear your favorite appropriate PJ's. 12/3 Sports day: Wear your favorite sports attire. 1/7 Inside Out day: Wear your clothes inside out. 2/4 Crazy Hat Day: Be creative or design your own hat. 3/18 School Wide Bake Sale: More information to come. 4/1 Mix Match Day: Wear two different shoes or clothes that do not match. 5/6 Beach Day: Bring your favorite beach towel, sunglasses, or flip flops.

In September, the PTA hosted a student assembly with Author Patricia Polacco. Click here to see some pictures from the assembly.
The PTA needs you to volunteer. We make wonderful things happen for the students of Willow Bend, but we can’t do it without your help. Please make the time to be a part. Grab a friend or make a new one and try something new! There is always guidance and help; you are never alone. Our PTA is composed of moms and dads that work full time, part time and that stay at home with their kids...there is a place for everyone, no matter what you do for “work”! Labels for Education and Box Tops for Education are again being collected this school year. Start now! Go to the www.labelsforeducation.com website for a list of eligible Campbell products. Envelopes will be sent home to aid in the collection. |
