Welcome to the Willow Bend PTA Website and the 2008 - 2009 school year; Parents and Teachers working together for our kids. Here are some recent highlights:
Our 2009-2010 PTA board was elected at the May PTA meeting. They are: President: Lisa Urban Vice President: Nancy Groch Treasurer: Heather Fornarelli Secretary: Nancy Sieh
The school Cash for College has raised over $2000. They will present the scholarship award to three outstanding former Willow Bend students on May28th at the College Forum Day.
Mrs. Barbie Rothbauer will begin as Willow Bend's new principal on July 1st, 2009. She received her bachelors in elementary education from Northern Illinois University. She began her career as an elementary teacher in Community Consolidated District 54 of Schaumburg, IL. She taught in that district from 1987-2000. Part of her teaching years included multiage training and teaching. She also earned her masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University. In August of 2000, Barbie began her leadership years in Consolidated School District 158 of Huntley, IL. She worked as a wing leader supporting the educational practices of a large number of new teachers with less than three years of experience. She used her training from Concordia to assist teachers in implementing best practices, building classroom management skills, and using assessment information to target small group instructional needs. She earned a second masters degree from Aurora University. She used her educational leadership certification to expand her service to the school district. She accepted a split position and served as assistant principal at Chesak elementary school with K-2nd students and Martin elementary school with preschool students and 3rd-5th. After nine years with D158, Barbie is thrilled to start her new opporunity with Community Consolidated School District 15 of Paltine, IL. As principal of Willow Bend, she looks forward to working with students, staff, families, and community to continue to provide an amazing educational experience for all.

The PTA needs you to volunteer. We make wonderful things happen for the students of Willow Bend, but we can’t do it without your help. Please make the time to be a part. Grab a friend or make a new one and try something new! There is always guidance and help; you are never alone. Our PTA is composed of moms and dads that work full time, part time and that stay at home with their kids...there is a place for everyone, no matter what you do for “work”! Labels for Education and Box Tops for Education are again being collected this school year. Start now! Go to the www.labelsforeducation.com website for a list of eligible Campbell products. Envelopes will be sent home to aid in the collection.
